From pen strokes to key strokes, and all of the thoughts in between, the generational odyssey starts here…

From Writer to Author

I have been a writer since I was at least 13 years old, but I haven’t been an author until now at age 41 with the publishing of my first book titled Generational Odyssey: A Father and Son’s Journey from Hobby to Business. This part of the story has some deep personal ties that also connects with what I am trying to achieve professionally, so writing it was a necessity. Through writing Generational Odyssey, I also found at that my parents where editors at their high school and college newspapers, which I look forward to explore and reveal in another related book. There are no dead ends, only connections that you haven’t made yet.

My writing started with laughter, but as a sign of enjoyment and approval with an oratorical speech in 7th grade that overtook my English class for at least a few days, then I enrolled in creative writing class in both high school and college, wrote some practical jokes for holiday gifts years later, and even started a book in 2014 that was occasionally being updated as late as 2021, that may or may not still have teeth, but could be picked apart for another book. You should never let good ideas go to waste.

I am excited to see where my new writing business takes me now that I have the focus, skills, and access to independent professionals to help me complete my books for sale and I look forward to you not just following me in my journey, but being a part of it. No man is an island and no story can live without it’s characters.

My first book has now officially released on 2/29/24!!! Available on Amazon, Bookbaby, and other retailers!

“How does an ant eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”

-St. Francis of Assisi

This is how an overwhelming journey was able to progress day in and day out without me losing my mind. I think I accomplished that…so far. I’ve always had an appetite for more…

“The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit”

 -Fabienne Fredrickson

Growth doesn’t happen overnight. You have to choose the right seed, learn the optimal ways to grow it and in what environment, then you can plant the seed. Day in and day out you must nurture that seed, giving it room and energy to grow. You set your timetable for harvest, but every seed doesn’t grow and bloom at the same rate so you need to be patient. Pick it too early and it’s not ripe enough to eat. Pick it too late and only a portion of it is edible…

“It is fortunate that each generation does not comprehend its own ignorance. We are thus enabled to call our ancestors barbarous”

- Charles Dudley Warner

Looking back on the previous generation, we can say for certain what, how, and when to do things to achieve a certain result, yet we forget to ask ourselves why they did that. Our world is not their world. Lifestyle, motivation, and happiness are just a few of the thing that shaped their thoughts and actions. I want to dig a little deeper to find answers to these questions, so I can put myself in my Dads shoes and try to experience his history that became my history…

The Generational Odyssey Journey Mindset

  • Get Busy Working

It all started with clearing out the clutter and putting the results back in my pocket to be used for something greater.

  • Adapt

All plans will change when your priorities change. I changed my plan because someone needed more help then I did. What I didn’t know was how it was going to change my life forever.

  • Be Happy, but never be satisfied

Enjoy what you have accomplished, but always look forward to the next challenge
